Camellia has ventured into North Carolina. Camellia was in Gum Swamp on the Virginia Beach/Chesapeake border at 1:00pm April 15. He flew south from there crossing just over the North Carolina line to an area known as Gibbs Woods in Currituck County and stayed there overnight. Next morning Camellia crossed the North Landing River back into Virginia Beach to visit the Blackwater section. He then crossed Princess Anne Rd (Rt 615) and spent the night just north of Public Landing Rd. The next morning Apr 17 he flew to Corolla, NC and spent the day wandering along the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Camellia stayed north of Corolla overnight Apr 18 and about noon Apr 18 began heading north. He spent a couple hours on Monkey Island in Back Bay just east of Knotts Island, NC then crossed back into Virginia Beach and as of this map appears to be flying north near Shipps Cabin Rd at 5:00pm Apr 18 – white data point.

Thanks for the information, Reese. So glad that Cam could make a little trip into NC. Maybe he will enjoy the catfish ponds that his sister enjoys someday. Good to know that both birds are flying free and well so far.
