Camellia has left Broad Creek in Norfolk and flown to the Western Branch of the Lynnhaven River as of the afternoon of July 26. Since then he has visited the neighborhoods in Pembroke, Thalia, Little Neck and Witchduck. It appears that Camellia sat in the favorite perch tree for the Saw Pen Point bald eagles near the Ferry Plantation House on Cheswick Lane on July 28. As of this map at 7:00am yesterday July 29 he was sitting in another favorite tree at the end of Richardson Rd that many of the NBG photographers know about -white arrow. Click maps to emlarge.

Thanks, Reese. I always look forward to the latest update.
Response – Hi Roy – thanks for checking in.
Thank you Reese for your continued work with the Eagles. Was wondering how far apart are the locations that Camellia and Azalea at right now.
Sally – Azalea is in a rural part of Va Beach, and Camellia is about 20 miles north in a heavily populated area of Va Beach.
saw a juvie over great neck middle school Friday the 29,,
This is very neat, they are flying all over my old stomping grounds, my husband an I grew up in Norfolk and of course Va Beach, we met at Azalea Jr. High School. Right down the road from NBG. Enjoy your work thank you so much, and I love knowing where the eagles are going. Thank you. Mary
Dear Reese,
Of the two, who would you consider to be the “busier”? The most unpredictable? and Which one has ‘suprised’ YOU the most in their behavior?
Anna – Azalea has wandered the fartherest from home (her natal area at NBG) and has remained in one location the longest – the catfish ponds near Plymouth, NC. Camellia seems to be more of a home boy. Even though he has at times wandered away to the north, he has rarely gone far south, and has spent the most time in Norfolk. You really do not expect them to behave exactly the same and they have not done so, so no surprise there. Both seem to be drawn to areas where other eagle nests already exist, and other studies have shown that same trait. I think we would have expected Camellia to wander more, but he is still young so has time to prove he can do that.
Thank you for the newest maps on Cam and AZ. I just “adopted” Cam and look forward to seeing updates on him and his sister. Thank you for all the work that you do.
Response – Thank you for your support. It is really appreciated.
As always, it’s a treat to see where Cam and Az have been hanging out!
