Camellia arrived at Lake Anna on August 14 and remained in the area around the lake until 11:00 Sept 21 when he flew northeast. By 1:30pm he was over Fredericksburg, VA then turned southeast into King George County and spent the night just north of Sealston, VA. By 7am Sept 22 Camellia was on the move further southeast over the Rappahannock River. He didn’t fly far stopping near Port Conway, then moving to the south side of the Rappahannock River a bit west of Port Royal where he spent the night. Up early on Sept 23, he flew back across the river to Port Conway then continued east into Westmoreland County and visited the birthplace of our first President, George Washington on the Potomac River south of Colonial Beach, VA. After a brief visit he flew a short distance south crossing Route 3 at Potomac Mills, VA and as of this satellite map at 7PM Sept 23 is at a small pond less than a 1/4 mile from Route 3. Oh dear, – just when we were about to get some real support (Sarah) at Lake Anna.
Camellia, thanks for flying where we could see you for the last month. We’ll keep trying. Be Safe!
Thanks Reese -for your details!
How appropriate that Cam should visit Mt. Vernon! Reese – your travel narration is always fun to read. Thanks you.
Susan – Camellia has not visited Mt. Vernon where George Washington lived as an adult. Camellia visited his birthplace near Colonial Beach which is about 50-60 miles south. Both are on the Potomac River.
