For the first time this eagle nesting season, the female adult spent the night in their nest at Norfolk Botanical Garden. Both adults were observed at 1:00am arriving at the nest by Rose, a devoted viewer. The male left shortly thereafter, but the female remained in the nest until about 6:35. This is usually an indication that the female is very close to laying her first egg of the breeding season.

– The WVEC eagle cam chat room has not yet been activated. WVEC expects it to go live in February. When it does I will make an announcement on this blog site.
Thank you Rose for keeping us up to date.

I was wondering about that, she does seem to be hanging around and fixing her nest a lot lately, adding things to it. Can’t wait. Thanks Reese
