Grace must have taken on lots of energy from the fish she foraged during the week she stayed on Tilghman Island in Talbot County, MD. For the past week she has flown into five different Maryland counties. She began on Tilghman Island on Oct 15 (YELLOW arrow) and flew west across the Chesapeake Bay on Oct 16 into Anne Arundel County (PINK pointer Oct 17). She then flew west and south into Charles County near Dentsville (GREEN pointer Oct 18), turned around and flew north into Prince George County at Baden, MD (BLUE pointer Oct 19). She then flew north and east crossing Annapolis and back into Anne Arundel County at Crownsville (ORANGE pointer Oct 20). She left there headed south to Davidsonville, MD (PURPLE pointer Oct 23), but first spent two days (Oct 21-22) on the South River off US50 west of Annapolis, MD. Grace then continued a bit further south into Prince George County (YELLOW pointer Oct 24) near Dunkirk, MD. As of this satellite map Grace is west of Fairhaven, MD and back in Anne Arundel County (WHITE arrow Oct 25 at 6:00pm). Click on maps to enlarge.
She is a busy girl! Thanks for the update Reese!
WoW, she WaS enjoying the nice brisk weather this week! I didn’t try to find her since Sat and Sun seemed dark and threatened rain. It looks like she might have made a stop at Charles County Landfill (two spots south of Waldorf?) but she didn’t stay thereabouts this time. Fly Safe Grace! I’ll be watching! You too, Reese!!
Maurina – You are right. Grace visited the landfill very briefly on Oct 17 and again on Oct 19
Enjoying the fall colors and cool breezes “big girl” stay safe .. come see us back here in NC..Thank you Reese
Reese, I just read that the WCV admitted an adult female bald eagle from Virginia Beach. Do you know which one it might be? Thanks for all you do!
Tania – As of now we do not know who this adult is. Checking all the known nests in the area to see if both adults are present. So far, all are accounted for. May have been an adult just passing over.
Thanks Reese. Always glad to hear updates on Ms Grace.
