Camellia has remained just south of the Chesapeake Regional Airport for the past three days. The rural neighborhoods are Curling Acres and West Landing Estates. He appears to be fishing in a farm ditch (Pink and Purple pointers). He spent two nights in the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge (http://www.fws.gov/refuge/great_dismal_swamp/) – Green and Orange pointers. Here are his data points – YELLOW arrow Nov 6 at 10:00am, PINK pointer Nov 6 at Noon, GREEN pointer Nov 7 at 1:00am, BLUE pointer Nov 7 at Noon, ORANGE pointer Nov 8 at 1:00am, PURPLE pointer Nov 8 at Noon, and as of this satellite data WHITE arrow Nov 8 at 6:00pm. Thanks for the update. Good to see Cam’s transmitter working again.
Glad you’re still around this area Cammy, be careful of bears! Hope to see you tomorrow, stay put!!
Maybe he’s eating frogs like his sister Azalea?
Response – I keep hoping that someone will spot Azalea again – with or without a frog!
Glad to see the transmitter working..stay away from road kill on Rt. 17..better still just come to my pond..Hope Bev get’s your pix..stinker.. thanks Reese
That is close to my old house on West Road, I know that area well. I might poke around alittle. Thanks for the update.
Thanks for the update, Reese!
You expect us to find Azalea without a working transmitter. Heck, we can’t even find Camellia and his is working and we know where he hangs out…lol. Pat…I looked for Camellia Sunday morning in Chesapeake and drove up and down RT 17…I saw no roadkill but did see some farm ponds, ditches and some man-made ponds.
As Azalea is my adopted eagle I share the desire to know of her welfare even though it may be an impossible wish. I watched her from her hatching, watched her finally leave the nest, (she liked to hang out in front of the camera calling for food) and followed her for three years. It is time to let go but it is hard to do.
Response – We would all like to know the fate of Azalea!!
I keep trying Pat! That Stinker sure likes to play with us!
Maybe we will find Azalea visiting HoneyBee again. – altho HK will probably see her ‘out’. It was thanks to her we tripped on her brother, right?
Wonder if the folks at the fish farm in NC have seen her recently.
Cammie, stay well. Thanks to all of you dedicated folks, for getting out there and looking for her, too.
