Azalea is doing as she has done for the past two summer seasons. Fly to the NC Tidewater Research Station near Plymouth, NC, spend a few weeks, fly back to Virginia for a few days, then return to TRS. Expect we will see her do that a couple more times this summer. For now she is at TRS – data points – YELLOW arrow Aug 4 at 1:00am, PINK pointer Aug 5 at 1:00am, GREEN pointer Aug 6 at 7:00am, PURPLE pointer Aug 7 at 1:00am, and as of this satellite map WHITE arrow Aug 7 at 2:00pm.

Reese – are there nests in the TRS area and is the area as crowded with breeding eagles as it seems the Norfolk area is? Just wondering if it would be possible she would decide to settle where her fave fish are.
Response – I have not taken an inventory so do not know if a nest is located in the area around TRS. Several eagles do visit there. Azalea is not there alone.
