AZALEA and CAMELLIA TOGETHER JAN 20
We last saw Azalea at Lake Taylor (YELLOW arrow Jan 18 at 6:00pm). She did not stay there but flew to Lake Smith to spend the night (PINK pointer Jan 19 at 1:00am). From there she flew to Little Neck in Va Beach and stayed in Lynn Acres where Camellia was roosting (GREEN pointer Jan 20 at 1:00am). Azalea then spent the rest of Jan 20 on the Pinetree Branch of the Lynnhaven River beside the Farm Fresh Grocery Store where Shelly Fowler and I took photos of her (YELLOW pin Jan 20 at 3:00pm). She then spent the night on Kings Grant Lake (PURPLE pointer Jan 21 at 1:00am) and was still there as of this satellite map – WHITE arrow Jan 21 at 3:00pm. Photo of Azalea by Reese F Lukei Jr
Check out the new eagle tracking page on The Center for Conservation Biology web site created by Libby Mojica and featuring a map of Azalea’s travels the past 2 1/2 years. The map zooms in and out. Click on any red data point and it tells you GPS location and date. Really cool!!! http://www.ccb-wm.org/virginiaeagles/tracking.html
The picture of Azalea is beautiful. So many color changes since she fledged. I also love the new Virginia Eagle tracking page. Very cool! Thanks for the update!
