Grace spent a few days at the mouth of Mobjack Bay leaving there on July 5 arriving at Hog Island (Green) on the James River on July 6. She stayed there until the morning of July 9 when she flew to Isle of Wight County south of Smithfield (Blue). From there Grace continued south stopping off in Suffolk near the BASF plant on Wilroy Rd (Route 642) on July 10 (Orange). On July 11 she flew across the Virginia portion of the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge (Purple) then turned south and as of this satellite map is in the North Carolina portion of the Great Dismal Swamp NWR north of South Mills, NC – WHITE arrow July 12 at 5:00am.
A note: Grace fledged from her nest on June 15, 2014 at Saw Pen Point in Virginia Beach. She left Virginia Beach on July 22, 2014 and as of now has not returned to her natal nest area.
