After spending the winter months in North Carolina, Grace has returned to Virginia. Grace left the Tidewater Research Station near Plymouth, NC (YELLOW arrow) about Noon on March 29 and crossed back into Virginia about 4:30pm. She spent the night in the North Landing River Natural Area in Virginia Beach (GREEN). From there on March 30 she flew to Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge (BLUE) then straight north along the Virginia Beach ocean front to First Landing State Park to spend the night (ORANGE). On March 31 she flew across the Lynnhaven River and close to her natal home at Saw Pen Point (YELLOW PIN about 9:30am) to Lake Smith (PURPLE) at Noon. From there Grace flew north across the Chesapeake Bay and spent the night in Gloucester County, VA (DARK BLUE). The morning of April 1 Grace flew south crossing the York River and the James River to Surry County, VA (YELLOW pointer at Noon). As of this satellite map Grace is at Hog Island on the James River in Surry, VA (WHITE arrow April 1 at 5:00pm).
