Trick or Treat!! I am back at the King and Queen County landfill. Azalea spent several days in Northumberland County then on Halloween flew back to the landfill in King and Queen County, VA. Interesting, today Ed Clark is releasing an eagle picked up from the K&Q landfilland rehabilated at WCV, nearby at the Zoar state forest. And it looks like KE visited the neighboring KW landfill recently. I find it so fascinating to see the travels of these eagles with trackers, and how they visit the same places, but usually not at the same time. I know it would be very costly, but have you thought of doing research on perhaps 3 eaglets from the same nest, tracking to see if they stick together as they fly across Va. and neighboring states? Thanks for the research you are doing. Are there recent published results on the studies of tracked eagles in this area?
Response – Jewel – go to http://www.ccb-wm.org – the look under publications.
Thanks Reese, as an adoptive eagle parent I am glad to know she is doing all the normal eagle things and is safe from the storm.
Wouldn’t it be exciting if the eagle shown joining the released eagle was Azalea!!
That landfill scares me; too many come to WCV from there – must have BAD stuff!!!
Let’s just hope our diva finds a safe haven for this next storm.
Still seems like there should be a small traking device which lasts longer…just in case she needs help! She is soooo much our little Norfolk Mom…Love….Susan
