Camellia, the urban bald eagle, has made a two day trip to the rural countryside of southern Chesapeake. As of the last satellite map he was near the Great Bridge locks in Chesapeake – Yellow arrow at 10:00am Oct 25. From there Camellia flew south of the Chesapeake Regional Airport, to just north of Douglas Rd where he overnighted (Green pointer 1:00am Oct 26). He moved a bit further south to the Northwest River and remained there overnight (Pink pointer 1:00am Oct 27). Then yesterday afternoon Oct 27, having had enough of country life, he flew non-stop from 3 to 4:00pm back to one of his most favorite places – Great Neck in Virginia Beach – Brown Cove on the Lynnhaven River just off Inlynnview Rd – White arrow 6:00pm Oct 27. Anyone who doesn’t quite get the expression, “free as a bird”, should be pointed at these two…..
Love the term “urban eagle.” So appropriate for Camellia! Thanks for the update.
Thanks to whoever fixed the typo. When I saw it it was too late to correct it. Phooey………
Roy – I “fixed” the name of the airport after eagle-eye Cary notified me I had it wrong.
