Azalea has traveled about 200 miles from the catfish ponds near Plymouth, NC to the shore of the Potomac River east of Colonial Beach, VA. She left the NC Tidewater Research Station on Aug 12 about 11:00am and stopped near Holland, VA overnight. On Aug 13 she continued her flight north stopping on the Essex/King & Queen County border for the night. About 10:00am Aug 14 she flew further north to the Potomac River in Westmoreland County just east of George Washington’s birthplace. She stayed there overnight. She did a U-turn from there flying south to Richmond County the morning of Aug 15 and as of this map at 6:00am this morning Aug 16, she is east of Farnham, VA and west of State Route 600 in Richmond county – white arrow.

I guess she doesn’t care for Catfish anymore…at least right now. This may be strange, but I wonder if she knows where she is going. Just thinking.

Oh, I’m just soooo excited. Today by looking at the map saw she flew right over my house–Lancaster Creek,– county line of Lancaster and Richmond Co. I now can start looking for her as know she is up here in my county and we are right on the creeks and river. Lots of juvies here and only once in a while see a white head!! Oh Azalea, treat me with your presence.
