After a week of wandering about Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, Camellia has settled down in the Chesapeake neighborhoods of Georgetown East and Valley Stream along the southern end of Indian River at Providence Road. After leaving Trashmore II, the Virginia Beach landfill, he moved a short distance, about two miles, to the west and has been moving back and forth along the narrow southern end of Indian River from which the area gets its name. As of this map at 1:00am this morning Aug 13, Camellia is in someones front yard on Bloom Ave about 100 yards off Providence Road and a block from Indian River Park in Chesapeake – white arrow. Wonder who the lucky home owner is whose yard he is hanging out in. Do you think they know they have a special eagle in their yard? Hope so and hope they get some good pictures! Thanks Reese.

This morning as I was leaving home to run errands, I noticed two beautiful eagles just floating along with the air currents and wondered where in the world they were headed (in no hurry I might add). When I reuturned home I immediately came here and found my answer ~~ I live no more than 7 miles from Indian River and Providence Road! Color me lucky!!

Sorry, Reese. Actually, I live in Kempsville and I thought they were headed toward Stumpy Lake when I first noticed them. Needless to say, I’ll continue to watch for them and I wonder who his friend is ~~
Thanks so much for your updates! I feel so blessed that Camellia has been hanging out in my area of Indian River. Been on the lookout for him, but no sightings. Yesterday, I did see a gorgeous adult fly by.
