After spending most of the day at Hewitt Farms on July 23, Camellia flew back to Algonquin and Crab Creek in Norfolk. He hung around there all day July 24, then about 11:00am July 25 he flew back to Broad Creek and Popular Hall. As of this map at 6:00pm July 25 he has crossed the creek and is in Ingleside – white arrow. All in Norfolk. Has not been back to the airport or NBG since July 19. Click on maps to enlarge.

Thanks Reese! I live across from Ingleside–am heading outside to look for Camellia flying over the river, or perhaps perched in a tree around the Commonwealth Ave. area!
Lynne – Hope you take your camera just in case Camellia lets you see him.
Cam, head up north a ways and show your little brother NV and sister NZ the fish catching ropes…you must have gotten pretty good at it the past year!
Reese, thanks for keeping us all in the loop on our 2009 and 2010 babies!
Azalea seems to hang out more w/ the communal roosts? But Camellia is more of a free-spirit..?! Nice to see that they’re both doing well so far!! Thank you Reese!
Reese,
This is a follow up on the info I mentioned to you on the WVEC Eagle Cam blog: The Air Rail Ave. nest has an established pair of adults. They fledged at least 2 eaglets this year. It has been there for at least 3 years that I know of. The location is Air Rail Ave., VA Bch., 23455; If you take exit 282 (off I-64) toward the Bay Bridge Tunnel, go approximately 1.1 miles–then left onto Baker Rd. for 0.7 miles, then another left onto Thurston Ave. Once you are at the end of Thurston at the stop sign, go right on Air Rail–it is down that way. Seems to be at the top of a telephone type pole, ya can’t miss it! If this is my tiny contribution to CCB & bald eagle conservation in our area, just fantastic! 😉 Hope this helps…& if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. God bless, & thanks for all you do Reese!!
Response – That is an Osprey nest rather than a Bald Eagle nest.
