Camellia has paid his first visit to his birth place – Norfolk Botanical Garden – since he left the area last summer. Camellia also spent the night at NBG Feb 17. He arrived from Great Neck about 2:00pm Feb 16 at “the dump” at NBG then spent the night near the picnic area. Camellia left about 7:00am Feb 17 and flew back to the Great Neck area. Camellia did revisit the Lake Shores area on Little Creek Reservoir where he again stayed overnight Feb 15 on Shenstone Ct. He seems to have found a place he likes in Great Neck off Inlynnview Rd between Olivia Ct and Little Lake Ct. He has spent the nights of 2/13, 2/14, 2/16 and last night 2/18 right there. The white data point is his location at 8:00am today Feb 18.

Checking up on her parents!
his parents!
Wow…one of our babies came home to spend the night…how cool and awesome is that. Thanks Reese
Camellia misses Mom and Dad. If they see him, I certainly hope they accept him. How amazing!
Did anyone get pictures of Camellia at NBG?
We were there almost all day on 2/17 and parked in the picnic area! Left around 3:30 and never saw anyone except Mom and Dad all day. Thought we saw one fly over real high around 1 PM but decided it wasnt an eagle after Shelly looked with her “big gun”. That bird sure is good at hiding just like Azelea.
Response – Camellia arrived at NBG 2:00pm Feb 16. Was at NBG at midnight Feb 17 and left NBG at 7:00am Feb 17.
This is exciting news! I wonder if anyone at NBG, a visitor perhaps, saw Camellia and didn’t realize how important their sighting was? I also wonder how these traks into home-territory are being studied by the CCB? Interesting data for the record books.
Response – It is possible that a photo that Joe Foreman took at 9:30am Feb 15 is Camellia.
Great to see Camellia back after such a long time!
