Grace has had enough North Carolina catfish for the time being. She left the NC Tidewater Research Station the morning of July 18 flying north to Bertie County (PINK). She continued north into Virginia and crossed the Great Dismal Swamp NWR on July 19 (GREEN). From there she flew further north to Isle of Wight County (BLUE 7/20) and Hog Island (Orange 7/21 & 7/22). Grace then crossed the James River to the waste treatment plant in James City County (PURPLE 7/23). As of this satellite map Grace is at the Bethel Landfill in Newport News just off I-64 – WHITE arrow July 24 at 6:00pm. Click on maps to enlarge.

Exciting Wonderful News (re back in Virginia)! I hope our friend photographers are looking for her – altho she is probably on the move. Landfills are often easy places to spot our eagles! Just hoping! thanks Reese!
