As expected by me (and NC Pat), Grace did fly to the North Carolina Agriculture Research Station and private Catfish farm east of Plymouth, NC (DARK BLUE pointer Jan 18 1pm). However, she did not stay there. After just one day she flew east to the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in Dare County, NC.
What is incredible is that Grace flew into North Carolina on Jan 13, 2015 and did the same thing on Jan 13, 2016. Even more remarkable is that Grace has returned to the same exact place in the middle of Alligator River NWR. The GREEN lines are in 2015 and the ORANGE lines are 2016. The WHITE arrow is the location of Grace as of this satellite map on Jan 22, 2016 at 8:00pm. Click on maps to enlarge.

How cool is that? Our eagles seem to like that place. don’t blame them. Thanks for the update.
That is pretty wild! I plan on being at Honeybee when she flies over next year! 🙂 Thanks Reese!
Well Ms Grace is a pretty remarkable gal.Reese..Azalea liked this area also as I recall and the dump at Stumpy Point..I will be down this weekend at the beach house to see what mess the storm left..I going to look for you “big girl” don’t leave..bet you do though stinker..Thank you Reese
Thanks Reese, – glad she is south and in a sparsely populated area. I love that these creatures seem to have a pretty good idea how to get where they have once been and indeed develop favorite hang outs. Stay safe and well fed little Grace.
