After months of feeding on farm raised catfish, Grace has left North Carolina and returned to Virginia. On June 29 she began flying north crossing into Virginia about noon and by 6:00pm she was in Surry County (GREEN pointer) where she spent June 30th. Grace continued her journey north on July 1 crossing the James River and York River into Gloucester County. At White Marsh (BLUE pointer) she turned south and flew to Big Island at the mouth of Mobjack Bay on Chesapeake Bay. As of this satellite map Grace is still on Big Island – WHITE arrow July 3 at 8:00am. Click on maps to enlarge.

Hi Reese,
Do you have any info on the status or success of Dad Norfolk’s nest this year? I would love to know how many eaglets and have they fledged. Sorry this isn’t about Grace but I don’t know where to go to get this info and thought you might be willing to help. If there is a place I can go to get updates, please let me know.
Thanks for all you do for eagles and us eagle lovers!!
Response – Check out my other bald eagle web site – http://www.ccbbirds.org/news-room/blogs/eagle-nest-blog/
Thank you Reese.
Welcome back to Virginia, Grace. You gonna head north?
