Easy Pickens’!! Bald Eagle Azalea showed the way in 2009 and Grace is following in her talon steps. Grace made a brief flight back to Virginia but the memory of all those catfish was just too much. She arrived back at the North Carolina Tidewater Research Station about Noon on Jan 16 and as of this satellite map is still there – WHITE arrow Jan 19 at 5pm.

Response – Still no signal from Camellia. As for Ghent eagle, last I heard it was still able to fly.
For a brief second I thought maybe Azalea had been seen. I was very attached to her.
Thank You.
Response – Whoops! Sorry if I was misleading. The best way to make my day would be for someone to locate Azalea.

Are you familiar with an eagle’s nest behind the Day School of Emmanuel Epis Church in Kempsville? The church sat near the intersection of Princess Anne and Witchduck–however, that road has been reworked and it is not as easy to find. The nest was there last year, but the individual I talked to did not know if there were eggs last year. Supposedly a developer has been halted from working on a condo complex due to the eagles. We have a trip out there tomorrow so we will try to see if we can see the nest–however we have no equipment to use so it will have to be quite obvious.

Response – Yes, there is a bald eagle nest, but not behind the church. Near entrance of Lord Dunmore. No eggs last season.
I did not find the nest but the eagle(s) were soaring overhead–always a nice sight!
Response. Nest is in tall pine tree and very visible.
I wonder if our original diva, Azalea, is busy with her own nest somewhere in the Chesapeake…like big brother HK? Then, again, she was so durned fond of catfish, I often wondered if she would relocate to raise her family closer to her favorite “restaurant”.
Response – Of all the transmittered eagles Azalea is the one I would most like to know the fate. Like you, I sure would like to know where she is and how she is doing.
