July 29, 2014Grace has now spent a week at Hog Island Wildlife Management area. She arrived on July 22. The cloudy weather the past few days affected the solar battery powering her satellite transmitter, and therefore, no data was sent on July 27 and most of July 28. This maps shows where Grace was at 4pm on July 28. The large facility on the map south of Hog Island is the Dominion Virginia Power Nuclear Power Plant.

Hopefully she will stay AFTER the skeeters leave so I can go look for her!! Last year I had gotten a pic of transmitted sub-adult there but too far away to read bands. Good area for eagles.
