Well, almost everyone has been wondering and asking when Azalea was going to return to the catfish farm in Plymouth, NC. No longer a question. She arrived there at 3:00pm May 28 after a brief stopover near Winton, NC. She spent much of March to June 2010 and 2011 at the privately owned catfish farm and North Carolina Tidewater Research Station. As of our last map Azalea was on Back River in Hampton, VA (YELLOW arrow May 27 at 10:00am). She left there at 2:00pm and flew directly south to the Chowan River near Winton, NC (PINK pointer May 28 at 1:00am). The next morning May 28 she continued her flight south arriving at the catfish farm in Washington County, NC about 3:00pm. She spent the night in the communal roost (GREEN pointer May 29 at 1:00am). She remains at the catfish farm as of this map – WHITE arrow May 29 at 5:00pm.

This just tickles me.
Thanks Reese! And welcome back to NC, Azalea. Happy Eating!
I thought she’d forgotten all about it! COL!
Surprised that it took her so long to return–however, we know she knows where home is!! I’m sure she will return.
Well darn, she’s going to be missed! Thanks, Reese!
I just hope that if she takes a liking to the farm raised catfish that the owners will tolerate losing some now and then.
