Azalea has made a 5-day round trip from Red Wing Golf Course (Feb 19) to Red Wing Golf Course (Feb 24). She began the past three days on the Albemarle & Chesapeake Canal east of Great Bridge in Chesapeake (YELLOW arrow Feb 21 at 2:00pm). She then flew just a bit northeast to the North Landing River south of Indian River Rd (PINK pointer Feb 22 at 1:00am). From there she flew to a familiar place near West Neck Creek – the Lake Placid neighborhood off London Bridge Rd (GREEN pointer Feb 23 at 1:00am). She seems to be into visisting familiar places because she then flew to Chesopeian Colony behind the Farm Fresh Grocery Store on Virginia Beach Blvd (PURPLE pointer Feb 24 at 1:00am). As of this map she is back at Red Wing Golf Course (WHITE arrow Feb 24 at 5:00pm). Click maps to enlarge.
Here are two fantastic photos taken by photographer Lee Whitlock of Azalea with a Hooded Merganser that she took on the Lynnhaven River on Feb 23. Copyright Lee Whitlock and used with permission. Click to enlarge.

Just super picks of Azalea (Thanks, Lee). What a good hunter she is. And I always love to follow Azalea’s and Camellia’s travels, especially when they are close to “home.” Thanks Reese.

Wow! I am certainly feeling the love and pleased that others are enjoying my shots.. Azalea only gave me about 30 seconds but the thrill of seeing her hunt will stick with me.
