Camellia continues to show that he is a highly urbanized bald eagle. For a year now Camellia has spent the vast majority of his time in areas that are highly populated and with heavy traffic flow. For the period represented by this satellite map – Sept 12, 13, 14 and up to 1am 9/15, Camellia has flown back and forth in Virginia Beach between Pembroke and Windsor Woods over I-264, Virginia Beach Blvd, and Independence Blvd. Heavily populated neighborhoods with lots of vehicle traffic, including Pembroke Shopping Center and Mount Trashmore. As of this map at 1:00am Sept 15, Camellia is on Thalia Creek between Princess Anne High School and Thalia Elementary School – white arrow. Click on maps to enlarge.

Reese, welcome back! Hope your travels were fulfilling. Also hope Camellia is flying high over all that traffic.
I saw an eagle soaring above Virginia Beach Boulevard around the Thalia area, as I’ve done before. Don’t know who it is, but definitely an eagle. Amazing I don’t crash into someone in front of me. Maybe Camellia looking down a the morning traffic on Virginia Beach Boulevard!
Where would Camellia be fishing in that area?
Response – Several places – Pembroke Lake, Windsor Lake, Thalia Creek and Thurston Branch of the Lynnhaven River are where he has been visiting.
Mr. Lukei, thank you for these continued updates. I look forward to these updates and like Carol, I need to be careful driving because I find myself looking up more and more watching these majestic birds!!
