Camellia spent a couple more days on the Lafayette River in Norfolk and has not been back to Norfolk Botanical Garden since July 19. Yesterday morning July 22 he flew to Little Creek by Hewitt Farms/Tarraltton off Little Creek Rd in Norfolk and spent the night there. Tarrallton Elementary School is nearby. As of this morning July 23 at 9:00am Camellia is on the creek in Hewitt Farms off the north end of Meadow Creek Rd – white arrow. Click maps to enlarge.

Fly low and stay cool.
Reese, Although I don’t get around to posting very often, I’m glad to see the updated locations whenever I can. Tarralton ES was my first teaching job in Norfolk…1966! Glad to see Camellia visit the old playground and nearby! Hope to see you at the release.
Reese, Do males roam farther than females? Seems like Camellia is all over the place and Azalea likes her easy pickin’s catfish farm…. or is that the reason?
Thanks, always enjoy these updates.
Evelyn – Where they wander seems to be an individule thing. Azalea has actually wandered much further from her nest at NBG than Camellia has, having gone all the way north to the Potomac River and south to Matamuskeet NWR in Hyde County, NC. Camellia is the one who has remained closer to home.
