Azalea is still at the private catfish farm and NC Tidewater Research Station east of Plymouth, NC. One interesting observation this time. She spent the nights of June 21, 22 and 23 in the communal roost on TRS property (lower left) but spent all day light times either at the open catfish farms or in the other communal roost on private property (upper right). As of this map at 3:00pm June 23 that is where she is – white data point. Click on map to enlarge.

How far is the catfish farm from other bodies of water? I thought that catfish live deep in the water. If so, I guess that an eagle could not catch one. I am wondering what she and the other eagles in the area feed on.
Response – The catfish farm is a couple miles south of the Albemarle Sound. The catfish ponds are shallow – about 6 feet deep. Several eagles feeding there, not just Azalea.
