Azalea = Orange lines – Green dot April 30 1:00am – White dot April 30 10:00am
Camellia = Blue lines – Purple dot April 30 1:00am – Yellow dot April 30 7:00pm
Azalea and Camellia spent the night of April29/30 sleeping about 100 yards apart. At 1:00am April 30 Azalea is the Green dot on the south side of Nanney’s Creek (Nawney Creek on some maps), and Camellia is the Purple dot on the north side of Nanney’s Creek. These two have crossed paths twice before near Jamestown, VA and over Hampton, VA. This is the first time they have spent the night together and spent any time flying about the same area at the same time.
Where is Nanney’s Creek? – Virginia Beach, VA – The creek flows into Back Bay (Redhead Bay on map) off Mill Landing Road

How interesting that their flight plans have intersected and that they spent the night just 100 yards apart!
This is great news. Amazing to know they are in close proximity to each other and NBG as well. Thanks Reese for your posts and updates.
Thanks Reese for the interesting flight info on them both.
Amazing. Wonderful.
Now they just need to go visit their Dad.
WOW, so close to my place. Wish I could find them and take some pictures….
Love this! It makes me wonder just how close they have come to some of their siblings. Wish we knew where they are.
So happy to read this news. I just know the two of them communicated about mom and dad and the young of this year.
Good work Azalea and Camellia. Stay for awhile and cheer dad up. Remind him that he’s not alone.
It’s very exciting to know that the two were so close together and such a privilege to be able to follow their journeys. Thank you Reese, for making this info avilable to so many.
Reading these happy stories still bring tears to my eyes for Momma eagle….. :*)
Reese, u r truly an amazing person for this to be your love and you truly help so many others as we all live a free and flying life through these beautiful creatures. I have learned so many spiritual lessons while watching several nests over the past 6 weeks, so many we can all apply to our lives to be better humans. I would love to establish a conservation center here in UK (i’m american living here) and am gonna do some research. Not sure if they have eagles here but i would certainly sponsor a breeding release program.
Weren’t they released two years apart and yet one night they end up 100 yards from each other?. And at the some time of mama eagle’s death?
Response – Azalea released 2009 and Camellia 2010
