Camellia has made a brief trip to North Carolina. After spending the night of April 22 on the Pasquotank River in Camden County, NC, he flew north crossing back into Virginia over the Great Dismal Swamp NWR about 10:00am April 22. From there Camellia flew to the Southeastern Public Service Authority Regional Landfill in Suffolk near Portsmouth Blvd (Rts 13/460). He stayed overnight then continued his flight north over Portsmouth, Craney Island, Norfolk Harbor, Newport News and back to York County. As of this map at 7:00am April 24, Camellia is just north of Victory Blvd (Rt 171) near the intersection of Yorktown Rd and Calthrop Neck Rd – white data point.

I was sitting on the lawn for the Easter Service at Grace Episcopal Church yesterday and a young eagle flew over. I would like to think it was Cam. Beautiful morning on the York and a very touching moment to have the nations bird fly so near the monument where America declared its independence.
