Azalea remains in Virginia Beach. After spending the night at Lake Smith on Mar 20, she flew south to the area around Princess Anne Rd and Sandbridge Rd. There are two former sand pits that are now a new housing neighborhood named Sherwood Forest. She spent most of Mar 21 and 22 at these two lakes. The night of Mar 21 she stayed about a mile from the Virginia Beach Municipal Center where West Neck Creek crosses Princess Anne Rd. The night of Mar 22 she stayed near Sherwood Lakes in another new neighborhood called High Gate Greens. Yesterday Azalea flew to the Castleton neighborhood off London Bridge Rd and that is where she was at 1:00am this morning – white data point.

We live near the West Neck creek/ Princess Anne Road crossing… we are thinking we seen Azalea in our back yard Sunday! We were able to snap a photo from our house of the eagle in a tall tree. We are so excited that eagles are flying near our house and even more excited to know that there is this tracking program!! If you guys are intrested in the photo let me know and I can email it to you! Thank you!
I’d like to see a picture of Azalea, Thanks!
Response – The juvenile eagle on the eagletrak masthead is Azalea.
Discovered that the eagle that was in our backyard was not Azalea, but an adult that is also in the area! Still very cool to see one out my kitchen window!! We will be on the lookout for Azalea now knowing that she frequents this area!
