When we last left Azalea at 8:00am Feb 21 she was in Poquoson, VA but flying west. She did not go far. She returned to Harwoods Mill Reservoir near the Newport News/Williamsburg Airport and stayed there over night. On Feb 22 she flew south to Big Bethel Reservoir, another watershed with which she is very familiar. Stayed overnight there. About 9:00am Feb 23 Azalea began flying south and returned to the Kings Grant section of Little Neck in Virginia Beach, and that is where she was at midnight last night – white data point.
Photo by Reese F Lukei Jr – This is Azalea at Kings Grant Lake in Little Neck, Virginia Beach at 4:30pm Feb 24. The adult male Wood Duck was not attacked by Azalea even though it appears that is about to happen. In fact, a few seconds later Azalea flew off in the opposite direction.

Our girl is staying close by. Oh how I love her. She is my hero.
Great photo of Azalea! That beautiful Wood Duck has no idea how lucky he is that Azalea was not hungry. Thank you for sharing.
Yay Reese! You are really getting good at finding our favorite juvenile eagles!
We are all SO lucky. These pics really bring us into the moment! Let’s keep these great sightings ‘going’ – (hoping!).
Thanks again!
Congratulations again, Reese! Am I remembering correctly that Azalea was the eaglet hesitant to eat feathered critters when she was still on the nest? I’m betting like most children, hunger has changed her opinion whats good to eat :-))
great capture
Great picture. Thanks Reese!
Beautiful picture. To think she is only 3 blocks from my home. I did see her flying on Wed. Love that little lady. Thanx Reese.
Thank you so much for your persistence and love for these eagles. You make us all feel like it us out there looking, then finally finding her.
You are the best.

Way to go again Reese. She certainly looks like she is doing well. Has that look about her that she is thinking that pretty duck would make a nice snack. LOL. Maybe she will decide to stay around here for awhile. That would be nice. Thanks for chasing her.
That is a beautiful picture! I love the way she has her wings spread out and you can see where her feathers are changing. The wood duck is beautiful too. So glad she didn’t feel like having duck for dinner! LOL
